Dear jacob,
I have finally arrived in the Vatican City. You would not believe how beautiful it is here! Everything is very old and has a renaissance look to it. I am almost too afraid to touch anything in fear that it might break. It is a very small place but there is so much to look at. I have already been to see the Sistine Chapel and Saint Peter's Basilica and I have plenty of pictures for you. When I went to Saint Peter's garden out in front of the Basilica the funniest thing happen. Apparently you aren't suppose to touch any of the plant life but I did! This old grounds keeper started yelling at me in a Italian, it was so scary. After that I took a couple pictures with the police officers and their uniforms are great. They have purple and gold stripes going from head to toe with some red mixed in. They look like legit clowns. There are literally no locals that live here, all I've seen are tourists. Compared to back home this place looks like a giant museum! It is so small here that you don't even need a car mostly everybody rides bikes. The landscaping in the city is also very cool. There are so many trees yet they have close to the amount of buildings that Raleigh has. I also figured out that the Vatican City mints their own coins and postage stamps. They also have their own style of license plates for their cars, if they have one. There are two different styles; one has VCS on it for vehicles belonging to the Vatican City State and departments of the Holy Sees and the other has CV for vehicles that are property of a Vatican citizen. They are so much simpler then the licences plates in America.
Talk to you soon,
Rachel
